On Christmas Eve, he was visited by the ghost of his former partner, Jacob Marley, who warned him of eternal torment unless he changed his ways. Three spirits—echoes of prophets—guided Scrooge through his past, present, and possible future, revealing the pain he caused and the love he had lost. He saw Tiny Tim, a Christlike figure full of faith and frailty, and a future where both the child and Scrooge himself lay dead and forgotten. Struck with fear and remorse, Scrooge awakened with a new heart, as if resurrected from the grave. He became generous and kind, living each day as if he had been saved by grace, honoring Christmas and humanity with a spirit of redemption.
